485803-bjp-flagMumbai : In the by-elections of Lok Sabha/Assembly constituencies held in different parts of the country, the BJP has retreated instead of winning. This has created an atmosphere of concern in the BJP faction.

By-elections were held in five Lok Sabha/Assembly constituencies in the state. Of these, Congress’s Jayshree Jadhav won the election for the Kolhapur North constituency of Maharashtra. Jayshree Jadhav defeated BJP candidate Satyajit Kadam by 18,000 votes.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate has defeated BJP candidate in Bochaha by-election in Bihar. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Amar Paswan defeated BJP candidate Baby Kumari in the by-election to Bochahan assembly seat of Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. Amar Paswan got 82,562 votes while BJP’s Baby Kumari got 45909 votes.

Actor Shatrughan Sinha is leading by 1.5 lakh votes over his rival BJP in the by-poll to Asansol Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal. Trinamool Congress Party (TMC) actor Shatrughan Sinha entered the fray in this election.

To counter him, the BJP had fielded Bollywood fashion designer Agnimitra Paul. However, in this ‘Kaante Ki Takkar’, Shatrughan Sinha has silenced Agnimitra Paul.

Trinamool Congress candidate has won the Ballygunge assembly by-election in West Bengal. Babul Supriyo of Trinamool Congress defeated Saira Shah Halim of Communist Party of India. Here the BJP candidate slipped to the third position.

Babul Supriyo of All India Trinamool Congress got 51199 votes in the Ballygunge assembly elections. His main rival, Saira Shah Halim of the Communist Party of India, got 30,971 votes. So, Kiya Ghosh of BJP got 13220 votes.

Congress has also won the Khairagarh assembly by-election in Chhattisgarh. Yashoda Verma of Congress defeated Komal Jangel of BJP by 20,067 votes. However, due to this result, not a single BJP candidate has been elected in all the five important elections, causing concern in the BJP faction.
