Kota, April 16 (H.S.). JEE-Advanced, 2022 exam for admission to 23 IITs across the country will be conducted on August 28 (Sunday) in two shifts. The first shift will be from 9 am to 12 noon and the second shift will be from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.

This entrance exam conducted by IIT Bombay will be conducted in computer based mode at various examination centers in 209 cities of the country including 8 cities of Rajasthan, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Ajmer, Udaipur, Bikaner, Sikar, Alwar. This year maximum number of examination centers have been set up in 25 cities of Andhra Pradesh and 20 cities of Maharashtra. As per the official information, this year also there is no change in the paper pattern and syllabus.

The online registration process for JEE-Advanced will be held from August 7 to 11. The admit cards will be issued on the website on 23rd August. Which can be downloaded till August 28. On the basis of its All India Ranking, admission will be given in 23 IITs of the country in BTech, Bachelor of Science (BS), BArch, Dual Degree BTech and MTech, Dual Degree BS and MS, Integrated MTech and Integrated MSc courses.

2.50 lakh will be selected from JEE-Main

2.50 lakh selected students of all categories out of JEE-Main, 2022 will be eligible for JEE-Advanced. In which 1,01,250 general category students from JEE-Main, 25000 general EWS, OBC 67,500, SC 37500 and ST 18750 students will be selected for JEE-Advanced, 2022. Last year, there were 16,053 seats in 23 IITs, out of which 1583 supernumerary seats were reserved for girls. This year the number of seats may increase by 10 percent. Earlier, JEE-Main, 2022 exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency from June 20 to 29 and from July 21 to 30. The final result of which will be declared on August 7.

Relaxation in eligibility of 12th board

This year also the students of class 12th have been given concession in eligibility. Due to Kovid-19, in 2019, only 75 percentile in the 12th board or the top-20 percentile of the respective board were considered eligible for admission in IIT. The same eligibility will be applicable this year also.

Aim to make enrollment of daughters 20%

As per the performance in JEE-Advanced, 2022, 20 percent seats in the undergraduate program of each IIT institute will be reserved for girls on supernumerary basis. Of course these seats will be extra. These seats will be decided by each IIT in its various programmes.

For the economically weaker general category, 10 percent seats will be reserved in each course. OBC non-creamy layer category will get 27 percent, SC category will get 15 percent and ST category students will get reservation in 7.5 percent seats. Children of deceased soldiers or disabled soldiers will be given admission on 2 seats in each institute.

10% reserved for foreign students

In each IIT, 10 percent of the total seats in each course will be reserved for foreign students on supernumerary basis. But in this, separate reservation will not be given to girls.

Fear of Korana ends before the exam

According to RK Verma, Managing Director of Resonance, Kota, after the corona epidemic, students will participate enthusiastically in JEE-Advanced examination this year with full preparation. This year there will be no inconvenience for the students to go to the external examination center.

Brijesh Maheshwari, Director, Allen Career Institute, Kota said that these days lakhs of students of the country are busy preparing for the final preparation of 12th Board Exam, JEE-Main and JEE-Advanced. The confusion has been cleared with the announcement of the exam date. A healthy environment of academic competition will be seen this year.
