Earlier on Wednesday, the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai claimed that a test out of 230 samples sent for testing under genome sequence confirmed the new sub-variant XE. In this case it was also said that a 50-year-old woman who had no symptoms of corona was found infected with the new sub-variant XE of corona. The woman has received both the doses of the vaccine. According to the BMC, the sample will be sent to the National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG) for confirmation of the new variant.
