Alwar/Dausa : The mortal remains of two of the three martyrs who were martyred in an encounter in Shopian on Thursday have been sent to their homes in Rajasthan. The martyrs, identified as Ram Avtar of Alwar and Pawan Singh Gurjar of Dausa, were initially taken to Shopian District Hospital, from where they were shifted to Srinagar Hospital. Despite several attempts to save their lives, all of them eventually succumbed.
According to the officials present on the spot, all three died after being hit by a vehicle during the accident. Five more Army personnel including these three officers were injured when a Tata Sumo carrying Army personnel overturned in South Kashmir’s Shopian.
Karmic Ram Avtar was a resident of village Kotkasim Ladpur in Alwar, while Pawan Singh Gurjar was a resident of village Kanchanpura in Dausa area. Gurjar got married three months back and is survived by two brothers and a wife along with parents.
Condoling the martyrs on Twitter, CM Gehlot tweeted, ‘Salute to the martyrdom of three soldiers including two sons of Rajasthan Shri Pawan Singh Gurjar, Dausa resident Shri Pawan Singh Gurjar and Alwar resident Shri Ram Avtar, who were martyred in the encounter. .
