Budgam : The Jammu and Kashmir Police has registered a case under the NDPS Act against two notorious drug smugglers in Budgam district of central Kashmir. According to a police spokesman, a case has been registered against Khalid Hussain Sofi, son of Ghulam Mohammad Sofi, a resident of Iqbalabad Charar-e-Sharif, and Amir Ahmed Ghani, son of Khazir Mohammad Ghani, a resident of Puzz-Mohalla Chadoora. According to the police, both were involved in several NDPS cases. Even after being named in several FIRs, the accused were promoting the drug trade by supplying narcotics to the local youths of district Budgam.

The general public of Budgam appreciated the role of the police in cracking down on drug smugglers. “Its continued action against drug smugglers is to reassure community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from drug abuse,” the police said.
