Lord Shri Ram is the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. According to Ramayana, King Dasharatha of Ayodhya had three wives. But after a long time no wife gave birth to any child. King Dasharatha performed Putreshti Yagya for adoption. After the yajna, Maharishi gave a bowl of kheer to the three wives of King Dasharatha.
