New Delhi: Apple can launch its iPhone 14 series in September this year. Nowadays, the features related to it also keep coming out. A recent report has revealed that Apple may offer satellite communication connectivity with the iPhone 14. This will allow users to make calls and send messages without cellular coverage. This feature will be very helpful especially for the customers in times of emergency.
Apart from the iPhone 14 series devices, this feature can also be found in Apple Watch. It is said that LEO (Low-Earth Orbit) will work with the Satellite Communication System. Let us tell you that the company has neither announced nor said anything about the new feature.
This feature does not mean that you can now make calls or text messages from anywhere in the world with Apple devices like satellite phones. Under this, Apple can provide ‘Emergency Message Via Contacts’ feature in its devices, with the help of which users will be able to get help of emergency services even when there is no cellular network. This can be done with the help of satellite network. The company was earlier working on this feature for the iPhone 13.
Powerful hardware is required to access satellite networks. Also, it is expensive. Apple’s offering of satellite communications facilities could also lead to a conflict between it and other mobile companies. However, the satellite communication facility will have some limitations. It may take a minute or two to receive the signal it sends. Also you have to be under open sky so that LEO satellite communication feature can work properly. With this feature, you will be able to send short emergency texts and SOS crisis signals.
