New Delhi: EKYC is mandatory for the beneficiaries of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. However, currently OTP based eKYC is temporarily suspended. In such a situation, the beneficiaries who were currently planning to do eKYC on the basis of OTP, they will not be able to do so as per their plan. However, the beneficiaries still have the option to visit the CSC center for biometric authentication.

Temporary ban on eKYC based on OTP authentication

According to the official website of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, “eKYC is mandatory for PMKISAN registered farmers. Please contact nearest CSC centers for biometric authentication.” “Aadhaar based eKYC by OTP authentication has been temporarily suspended,” it said.

PM Kisan Yojana Extended eKYC for time limit

It is noteworthy that the government has also extended the eKYC deadline for the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana. Earlier this deadline was 31 March, which has now been extended to 31 May. “The deadline for eKYC for all PMKISAN beneficiaries has been extended till 31st May 2022,” the website states.

What is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme?

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (Prime Minister-Kisan) Yojana is a central scheme through which the central government provides financial assistance of Rs.6,000 per year to eligible landlord farmer families across the country. This financial assistance is given in three equal installments, which are sent directly to the accounts of farmer families.

One installment is two thousand rupees. 2000/- per annum is deposited in three installments in the account of the beneficiary. The definition of family for the scheme is husband, wife and minor children. Pradhan Mantri Kisan is a 100% central sector scheme funded by the Government of India.
