A statement issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said that if cardless withdrawal is available at all bank ATMs, then incidents like card cloning, skimming and device tampering can be brought under control. Cardless withdrawal facility has to be introduced to prevent ATM frauds. Therefore, now the facility of cardless cash withdrawal is also being started in the bank’s ATMs. Cardless withdrawal will be facilitated with the help of customer authorization. Customer authentication will be enabled using UPI.

Cardless withdrawal up to 25 thousand in a month

Under the cardless withdrawal facility, a person can withdraw cash from an ATM without the help of a debit card. Cardless withdrawals can be made up to Rs 100 in a day, up to Rs 10,000 in cash or up to Rs 25,000 in a month. Any decision regarding limits will be taken on regulatory basis. Governor Das said that in the meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee, the total assets of India’s bill payments have been reduced from Rs 100 crores to Rs 25 crores.

Before cash withdrawal, OTP is sent to the registered mobile of the customer and then the withdrawal process proceeds. Cashless withdrawal facility is available at State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, IndusInd Bank ATMs.
