Lucknow : To develop and encourage business development skills among the youth, Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh will soon launch an online course in entrepreneurship.
The course will be conducted at the college level and upon completion the participants will receive a certificate. The certification will be given by the MSME and Export Promotion Departments.
Navneet Sehgal, Additional Chief Secretary, MSME said that the curriculum and modalities are being worked out.
“The idea is to make the youth self-reliant by empowering them so that they become not only job seekers but also job creators,” he said.
Sehgal also said that apart from providing certificates, the 10-day course will also provide exposure visits and bank linkages for loans to implement ideas.
Joint Commissioner MSME (Export and Lucknow Zone) Pawan Agarwal said that the certification opportunity will be included in the departmental app called MSME Sarathi.
“Two main reasons prompted the department to think about this. The chief minister’s priority is to generate employment in the state, while the demand for training and experience in some schemes of the Skill Development Mission and the position of the bank for disbursement of loans is second.
The course will have general certifications in addition to advance courses in specific areas like food processing, agricultural production, etc.
The department has also envisaged the idea of introducing entrepreneurial skills at the senior secondary level so that the foundation of their self-reliance can be laid in the initial years.
Apart from the certification program, the MSME department has decided to double the seats under Mati Kala Board and Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana.
