Pune, April 7 (H.S.). Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat Mumbai Indians by five wickets on Wednesday, thanks to a blistering 56 off 15 balls by all-rounder Pat Cummins. Expressing surprise at this innings of Cummins, Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma said that he did not expect such an innings from Cummins.
After the match, Rohit said, “Never expected Cummins to come and play like this. The way he played was amazing and it was amazing.”
Mumbai Indians got off to a slow start as they scored only 35 runs for the loss of one wicket in the first six overs of the powerplay. Rohit said, “We had the game till the 15th over, but the way Cummins played, it was unbelievable. We thought we could get them out. But the way the last few overs turned out, it will be difficult to digest.”
Mumbai Indians’ five-wicket loss against KKR was their third defeat in as many matches this season. The Rohit Sharma-led side will now look to register a win against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday.
