Suncheon, April 7 (H.S.). Indian player Lakshya Sen suffered a defeat in the second round of the men’s singles category of the 2022 Korea Open Badminton Championships. Lakshya was defeated in straight sets by Indonesia’s world number 24 Shesar Hiren Rustawito in the second round on Thursday.

Lakshya was defeated by Rustavito 22-20, 21-9 in a match that lasted 33 minutes at the Palma Stadium here.

The first game saw a close fight between the two players. At one point both the players were tied at 7-7. Sen then took a 9-7 lead with two points, but the Indonesian won six consecutive points to take a 13-9 lead. Lakshya Sen also came back after winning five consecutive points and took the score to 15-14. At one point both the players were tied at 20-20, but here Hiren won two consecutive points to win the first game 22-20.

In the second game, Lakshya Sen was trailing from the start and Hiren made the game one-sided and won the match by winning the game 21-9.
