Mumbai: Something happened in Rajasthan’s match against Lucknow which had never happened before. This went down in the history of IPL and R Ashwin became the first player to do so. Despite Rajasthan Royals not getting out in the 19th over, Ashwin walked out of the field without anyone’s permission. This is called retired out. However, captain Sanju Samson has revealed why Ashwin did this.
Ravichandran Ashwin, who batted well against Lucknow, retired and returned to the pavilion. Regarding the whole matter, Sanju Samson said that it was the decision of Rajasthan Royals. We keep trying differently. We talked about it before the season. We thought that if any situation arises we can use it. It was the team’s decision.
For the first time in IPL history, a player has been ‘retired out’.
R Ashwin became the first player in IPL history to retire for the first time. When a batsman leaves the field without the umpire’s permission without causing injury, he is said to be retired out. In such a situation, if R Ashwin wants to return to the field, then he cannot go. Once a player retires, he cannot return to the field to bat.
R Ashwin scored 28 runs in 23 balls in this match. R Ashwin did not explain why he did this. But there were speculations that he did it because he was tired.
