Mumbai: Apart from cricket, the other favorite sport of former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is football. Dhoni is seen playing football in the practice session before the cricket match. He has also been seen playing football in Bollywood charity and friendly matches. Dhoni was seen playing football before the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings (SRH vs CSK). Former India coach Ravi Shastri was not surprised. He narrated a story about Dhoni’s love for football.

Shastri recalled his match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup. Dhoni was playing football five minutes before the toss when there was dew on the ground. The scribes asked him to stop. In an interview with Star Sports, the official broadcaster of IPL, Shastri admitted that he had never shouted so loudly at anyone in his life. He did this to save Dhoni from injury.

Ravi Shastri said, ‘Dhoni likes to play football. You will be stunned to see the intensity with which he plays football. Hope he doesn’t get hurt. I remember tossed a coin in the Asia Cup final and five minutes before the coin was tossed, the dew fell. I have never shouted so much at anyone in my life. I told him – stop playing. You don’t want to lose your key player in the match against Pakistan, but it is impossible to take him away from football.
