Mumbai: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) won the toss and elected to bowl against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their 20th Indian Premier League match at the Wankhede Stadium here on Sunday.
For Rajasthan Royals, Kuldeep Sen will join the squad, replacing Navdeep Saini and Rasi van der Dussen has been included in place of Yashasvi Jaiswal. The Super Giants have added to the bowling line-up by bringing in Chamira and Stoinis in place of AJ Tye and Evin Lewis.
At the toss, Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson said, “We did the same last time (batting first), so just need to get runs on the board and defend later. Nothing can be done about the toss, our team is well-balanced to deal with that factor. We have two changes – Kuldeep Sen for Navdeep Saini, Rassi van der Dussen for Yashasvi Jaiswal.”
On the other hand, Lucknow skipper KL Rahul said, “We are going to bowl first. Even in the last game, I had no other reason. We just want to know what to chase and maybe the dew may come. Later Every game starts anew and I haven’t played a good game here. It is always balanced. I just want to come out and work for the team. We are chasing, so we will know what to do and I can pace my innings accordingly. We have a great team and that makes a captain’s team easy. When you have experienced players and almost 9/10 of the players in the first XI are international players, it makes the role of captain easier. I am enjoying the captaincy. Two changes – the lack of Lewis and Tye, Stoinis and Chamira came in.”
