Pune, April 10 (H.S.). Mumbai Indians team director Zaheer Khan expressed his disappointment after the 7-wicket loss against Royal Challengers Bangalore and said that his team needs to play according to the conditions.
Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Mumbai Indians by seven wickets at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium on Saturday, thanks to excellent innings from Anuj Rawat and Virat Kohli.
Zaheer said after the match, “You should be able to change your game according to the circumstances. As a team we are not able to do that. So we have to pay attention to it. It is a long season, so we have to keep things tight and keep getting better.”
He said, “In this format you get a chance to express yourself freely, that is important. You have to pay attention to every situation and act accordingly when the partnership is going on. If you can figure it out with the help of the captain, then you can get on top of the conditions.”
Regarding the upcoming matches, the former pacer said that the team is waiting for the first win to get back the momentum.
He said, “There are still 11 league matches left. We have to go on a roll. You have seen in this tournament how teams gain momentum to lose or win. It is only a matter of winning the first (getting the first victory).”
