Rachna Sachdeva Korhonen : US President Joe Biden Has appointed Indian-origin Rachna Sachdeva Korhonen as ambassador to Mali. The White House made this announcement on Friday. This is the third nomination of a person of Indian origin in the US in the last one month. Korhonen began his career in the US Foreign Service. He is currently the Deputy Assistant Secretary and Executive Director of the Joint Executive Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs and the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs at the US State Department.
The White House said in a statement that Rachna Sachdev previously served as Consul General and Chief of Staff at the US Consulate in Dharan, Saudi Arabia. He also headed the management room of the US Embassy in Colombo. He has also served as Special Assistant to the Under Secretary of Management in Washington.
Earlier this month, Biden appointed Indian-origin Puneet Talwar as ambassador to Morocco and Indian-origin political activist Shefali Razdan Duggal as ambassador to the Netherlands.
