Islamabad : The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to hold nationwide protests on Wednesday, April 13. The party’s decision comes in the wake of the removal of the Imran government and the formation of a new administration. “From Wednesday we are going to launch a nationwide campaign in Peshawar,” PTI leader and former Pakistan Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said. “Muslims across the world are in support of Imran Khan,” PTI said on its official Twitter handle. PTI held large rallies in different cities of Pakistan. These cities include Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar and Lahore where anti-government slogans were raised during the rally. On Monday, Imran Khan thanked the people for their support. In the 342-member House, 174 members voted in favor of a no-confidence motion late Saturday night to oust Imran Khan.
It is claimed that the opposition has the support of foreign powers to overthrow the government.
PTI leaders, including Imran Khan, have repeatedly claimed that the opposition that brought down their government has foreign powers. Earlier there were demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday as well. Protesters put up flags, banners and posters of Imran Khan’s party outside the National Assembly on Saturday.
