ISLAMABAD, APRIL 11 (HUS). The political situation in Pakistan is changing day by day. Imran Khan’s party MPs, who went out after boycotting the National Assembly during the no-confidence motion, will no longer resign. Not only this, Imran’s party has issued an appeal to win its candidate for the post of Prime Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
After the removal of Imran Khan from the post of Prime Minister by a no-confidence motion in Pakistan, the process of choosing a new Prime Minister started on Sunday. On behalf of the opposition, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s brother Shahbaz Sharif has filed his nomination for the post of Prime Minister. On the other hand, Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has fielded former and foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi. Qureshi has also filed nomination. Both nominations have been accepted and a new prime minister will be elected in the National Assembly on Monday afternoon.
Meanwhile, PTI’s prime ministerial candidate Shah Mehmood Qureshi has denied reports of all PTI MPs resigning. He said that in the PTI core committee meeting, most of the MPs believed that the fight against the new government should be fought inside and outside the National Assembly. By the way, he also talked about the final decision on this before the proceedings of the Parliament.
Meanwhile, PTI General Secretary Asad Umar has appealed to all party MPs to be present in the National Assembly during the election for the post of Prime Minister to make Shah Mehmood Qureshi win. He also warned of action against those rebelling against the party.
