Kanpur, 08 April (H.C.). In the state level masters badminton competition that was held in Moradabad, the players of Kanpur gave a proud achievement to Kanpur by winning the finals in 11 categories.
Prominent among the winners are Anil Srivastava of Life Insurance Corporation of India, Kanpur, Anutosh Kamal of Bahraich 21-8, 21-10 in men’s singles 45 years and Atul Gupta of Kanpur in men’s doubles 45 with Anurag Sharma of Prayagraj. and defeated the pair of Arjun Singh 18-21, 24-22, 21-15 to win the double title.
In men’s singles title of 40 years, Shubham Chadha of Kanpur defeated Nitin Mehra of Rampur 21-19, 19-21, 21-19. In the mixed doubles category, Atul Gupta and Sushma Kumar won the title. In the men’s doubles category, the pair of Gurcharan Singh and Pankaj Gupta of Kanpur won the title in 60 years.
Chandna Dutta of IIT Kanpur won the titles of women’s singles 50 years, women’s doubles 50 years and mixed doubles 50 years. Similarly, Madhumita Mishra of IIT Kanpur won all the three categories in women’s singles 35, women’s doubles 35 and mixed doubles 35.
At the same time, international badminton umpire Ravi Dixit acted as the chief judge of the competition. Kanpur District Badminton Association office-bearers Manoj Pandey, Dr. AK Aggarwal, Sushil Gupta, Maheep Saxena, D.P. Singh (Secretary) extended best wishes to all the winners on the occasion.
