Lucknow: north State Police has arrested a fake IPS officer from Gomti Nagar area of Lucknow. The accused (Pratik Kumar Mishra) was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF), which also recovered two mobile phones, a fake IPS ID card, appointment letters for constable posts and documents related to the Uttar Pradesh Recruitment and Promotion Board.
The accused was running a job racket for a long time on the pretext of a job in the Municipal Corporation and Police Department. STF Additional Superintendent of Police Vishal Vikram Singh said Mishra used voice-changing software or voice-over-internet protocol to trap the job seekers. Singh said, “Pratik Kumar Mishra had earlier duped many people of Rs 1 crore during Kovid.”
The police officer said that the matter is being further probed to find out his misdeeds.
