Prayagraj, 07 April (H.S.). North Central Railway team won five medals in the 86th All India Railway Athletic Championship held in Kolkata. The team consisted of 18 players and out of which 5 players won one silver and four bronze medals. On Thursday, the General Manager encouraged the players.

CPRO Dr. Shivam Sharma informed that Gurjinder won silver and Ejaz Ahmed won bronze medal in hammer throw in the competition. Manoj Yadav won bronze in Javelin throw, Nandini Gupta won bronze medal in 3000m steeple chase and Rishu Singh won bronze medal in 1500m race. Apart from this, Krishnanand Tripathi got fourth position in javelin throw, Satendra shot put, Rajkumar Singh 10,000 meters race.

The team of North Central Railway went to the office of the General Manager and apprised them of the achievements. The General Manager inquired about each one of the players of the athletic team and congratulated them for their splendid achievement and expected them to perform in the same way in future.

In this sequence, the General Manager also appreciated the coach of the team, Ragini Singh and team manager Diwakar Shukla and motivated them for better team management and coaching. The General Manager also praised Virender Pal, who won Silver Medal as Indian Railway Cross Country Team in the 56th National Cross Country Championship held at Kohima. On this occasion, North Central Railway Sports Association President Sharad Mehta, General Secretary Nitin Garg, Secretary / General Manager Ajay Singh, other officials of North Central Railway Sports Association and members of North Central Railway Sports Cell Dinesh Yadav and Maqbool Ahmed were present.
