In blast or gust disease, both leaves and stalk of paddy are affected, due to which the whole plant becomes dark in color and gets scorched. If such symptoms are seen, spray Carbendazim fifty percent drug after dissolving one kilogram or 600 grams of Tricyclozol in 1000 liters of water. This information was given by Dr. SK Vishwas, Professor and Head of the Department of Plant Pathology, CSA on Thursday.
He said that therefore farmers should identify diseases and pests well and use appropriate medicines. In the event of not being able to rescue in time, 35 to 40 percent of the farmer brothers have to bear the loss. The yield is affected when they are planted. For proper control of odoriferous pest, spray Methyl parathion 2% dust @ 25 kg per hectare at flowering stage. For the control of stem borer, apply Cartop Hydrochloride 54% @ 18 kg per hectare in 3.5 cm standing water in paddy field. Farmers can protect their paddy crop by spraying Carbafiron 3G, 20 kg or Imidacloprid 17.8 SL at the rate of 0.5 ml per liter of water for the control of hopper pest.
