Kanpur, 21 September (H.S.). The Meteorological Department has forecast that in the coming two days, due to light to moderate cloud cover, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in the nearby districts including Kanpur. The weather has become pleasant due to the rain in Kanpur on Wednesday and Thursday.

Kanpur division received 34.2 mm of rainfall throughout the day on Thursday as the monsoon line moved towards central Uttar Pradesh. The temperature dropped by two degrees due to the winds blowing from the north-east direction throughout the day. According to the Meteorological Department, moist winds coming from the south-west direction and dry air coming from the north-west direction are being received. Due to this, there is a possibility of rain for the next two days.

CSA meteorologist Dr. SN Sunil Pandey said that the maximum temperature was recorded at 30.2 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature was 24 degree Celsius during the day. He said that the southwest monsoon has withdrawn from some parts of southwest Rajasthan and adjoining Kutch region on September 20.

The line of withdrawal of monsoon is passing through Khajuwala, Bikaner, Jodhpur and Naliya. The Low Pressure Area now lies over North Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level. It is expected to move in a west-northwest direction. A trough is extending from a Low Pressure Area over North Chhattisgarh to Western parts of Uttar Pradesh. In the next two days, light to moderate rain with light to moderate rain has been predicted as a low pressure area has formed over entire Uttar Pradesh.
