Noida: Police in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddh Nagar are on high alert in view of the communal clashes that broke out in North West Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area on Saturday evening. He said that on the instructions of Commissioner Alok Singh, the district police carried out intensive patrolling and foot march in all the three police areas- Noida, Central Noida and Greater Noida.


“Patrols were done in crowded areas and markets, near shopping malls, metro stations and areas with mixed population. Senior rank officers supervised the patrolling and the law and order situation is being continuously monitored, police said in a statement. The police also reviewed the situation in the areas along the route of the proposed religious rally on Sunday, while officials kept a watch on history-sheeters and anti-social elements.


Noida Police has urged the public to remain alert and alert the local authorities immediately on getting information of any clash or uproar in their area so that any unfortunate incident can be prevented. According to officials, clashes broke out between two communities during a Hanuman Jayanti procession in north-west Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area on Saturday, in which several policemen were injured.
