On the occasion of Hanuman birth anniversary, Vice Chancellor Prof. Hareram Tripathi, after applying a mixture of vermilion and jasmine oil, performed the rituals for the welfare of the world. He told that the importance of Hanuman Jayanti festival has become special on Saturday. Hanumanji is believed to have been born on the full moon day of Chaitra month. Hanuman ji is considered one of the most influential deities in Kali Yuga. He told that after the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Ravana got divine power. Due to which Ravana sought a boon from Shiva to get his salvation, to tell him some way to provide salvation. Then Shiva made a Leela to provide salvation at the hands of Rama. According to the Leela, Shiva took birth as Hanuman.

He told that there is an incident in the story of Ramayana. Once Mata Sita was applying vermilion in her demand. Seeing this, the question came in the mind of Hanuman ji that why Sita Mata is applying vermilion in her demand. When he asked Sita Mata this question, the mother said that by applying vermilion, the wish of husband Shri Ram’s long life and healthy life will be fulfilled. That’s why all the sweethearts apply vermilion in their demand for the long life of their husband. Then Hanuman ji thought that when a little vermilion can increase life, then if I apply vermilion all over my body, then Shri Ram will become immortal. Thinking so, Hanuman ji started applying vermilion all over his body and by applying vermilion he also appeared in the meeting of Shri Ram. Lord Rama was very pleased to see such a form of Hanuman ji. Since then there is a tradition of offering vermilion on Hanuman ji.
