Prayagraj, April 11 (H.S.). The National Journalists Federation of India, District Unit Prayagraj, gave a seven-point demand letter to the District Magistrate Prayagraj, demanding the immediate release of three journalist colleagues arrested in Ballia and the implementation of the Journalist Protection Act in the state.

In the memorandum given on Monday, to prevent the incidents of journalist harassment increasing day by day in the state, with immediate effect, the journalists working in various newspapers, channels and media institutions should be listed at the government level and by amending the press recognition rules of the state, journalists in it. The demand to include provisions for the security of and to set up a journalist commission in Uttar Pradesh is mainly involved.

It has also been said in the demand letter that representation should be given to the National Journalists Federation of India in the Journalists Commission and no journalist in Uttar Pradesh should be arrested unless he is found allegedly involved in any case until the jurisdictional level. His investigation should not be completed. Serious concern was expressed about the harassment across the state. Due to the busyness of the District Magistrate, ACM first Shubham Srivastava came and took the memorandum.
