Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday inaugurated a state-wide health campaign and said that each of the 403 assembly constituencies in the state would have a 100-bed hospital.

Inaugurating the Jan Arogya Mela in the state from the Jangal Kauriya Primary Health Center in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister said that his government was focusing on strengthening the health infrastructure.

“Every assembly constituency in the state will have a well-equipped hospital with 100 beds and Jan Arogya Mela will be organized every Sunday at all primary health centres,” he said.

He said that during the campaign people would get free consultation and medicines.

The chief minister said the campaign was started in 2020 but was called off due to the coronavirus pandemic.

He also claimed that the deadly encephalitis, which claimed the lives of more than 50,000 children from 1977 to 2017, was brought under control due to the joint efforts of the central and state government.

He said, “Encephalitis has come under control in the last four years. Deadly encephalitis will be gone forever in one to two years.”
