School timings changed: The timings of schools in Punjab will change from Tuesday 1st October. All primary schools will start at 8.30 am and end at 2.30 pm.

Similarly, all middle, high and senior secondary schools will start at 8.30 am and will be dismissed at 2.50 pm. In this regard, the School Education Department has issued a letter to all the District Education Officers.

From April 1 to September 30, timings for all primary schools are from 8 am to 2 pm and timings for all middle/high/senior secondary schools are from 8 am to 2.30 pm.

two days holidays in punjab
There will be a public holiday in Punjab on 2nd and 3rd October (Wednesday and Thursday). Gandhi Jayanti is on Wednesday and Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti and Navratri Kalash installation is on Thursday. Due to this, schools, colleges, banks and offices will remain closed for two days in Punjab.

Let us tell you that there are many big festivals in the entire month of October. These include festivals like Durga Ashtami, Dussehra, Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti and Diwali. That is why this month is called the month of holidays.

The month of October is starting from tomorrow. The first public holiday of this month will be on Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October. Banks, government offices, schools and colleges will remain closed on this day. There will be a holiday in Punjab and Rajasthan on 3rd October on Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti.

This means that schools, colleges, banks etc. will remain closed for 2 days in the beginning of the month. Both these days are listed as holidays in the government's annual holiday list. Apart from this, Dussehra is coming on 12th October and Diwali is coming on 31st October. Apart from this, Valmik Jayanti is on 17th October.
