Printing can become a source of income for young women: Dr. Nimisha Avasthi

Kanpur, August 10 (HS). Printing is such a technique that can be used on clothes to make them unique and beautiful. Women and girls can learn this technique and earn income from home by doing self-employment. Home scientist Dr. Nimisha Awasthi said this on Saturday while addressing the closing ceremony of the five-day training on the subject of value addition of clothes through dyeing and printing method organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dalip Nagar Kanpur Dehat, operated under Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur.

She said that when we go for shopping, isn't it true that we usually choose two or three dresses and then choose the best one among them. However, when you have to choose between a plain dress and a printed outfit, mostly you choose the dress which has unique prints because they are more attractive, printing is a technique which can be used in clothes to make them unique and beautiful.

CSA media in-charge Dr. Khalil Khan said that on the first day of training, Bandhani was taught, then block, batik, screen and fabric printing was taught on the last day. On the last day, the program was concluded by giving certificates.

While distributing certificates in the program, the in-charge of the center, Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh said that by using this art, women can not only make their clothes beautiful but can also make products using it and earn income by selling them in the market.

Senior scientist Dr. Rajesh Rai, who was present in the program, said that handmade items are in great demand in the market and also fetch a good price. Research assistant Mr. Shubham Yadav and Gaurav Shukla provided full support in successfully completing the program. 41 women including Neetu, Swati, Santoshi, Rinki from village Phanda, Rakhi from Bakharia, Babita and Durga from Jyoti etc. participated in the training.
