Minister Premchand Agarwal participated as the chief guest in the Jal Utsav program organized in Bagyal village on Sunday under the water conservation campaign. On this occasion, he called upon all the people to ensure widespread participation in water and environment conservation activities by planting trees and throwing seed bombs.

In a program organized at the Panchayat Chowk of Bagyal village, Cabinet Minister Agarwal said that these days a large area of ​​the state has come under the grip of forest fire, which is quite worrying. This causes a lot of damage to biodiversity and environment.

On this occasion, on the demand of the villagers, he directed the officials to install street lights in Bagyal village, beautify the Kandar Devta temple and make arrangements for the maintenance of the road. He also distributed HDPE pipes to the villagers for irrigation courtesy the Agriculture Department.

On this occasion, District Magistrate Dr. Meherban Singh Bisht informed the Cabinet Minister about water conservation campaign and other programs. He informed that many activities like plantation, grass plantation, check dam, canal and ravine construction are being organized under the water conservation campaign operated under the Spring and River Rejuvenation Authority (SARA) for water conservation and enhancement through treatment activities of 60 water sources and 20 tributary rivers in all six development blocks of the district. Various programs have been organized on a large scale in the Jal Utsav program organized from 10 to 16 June under the campaign.

There will be a permanent solution to the drinking water problem of Barkot city: Agarwal

District in-charge minister Premchand Agarwal, who reached Uttarkashi, said that efforts will be made to approve the proposed drinking water scheme soon for a permanent solution to the drinking water problem of Barkot town. Till then, suitable arrangements for water supply will be made through alternative means. He said that to deal with the water crisis arising during summer, a plan to install one tube well in each block will be included in the district plan.
