Kanpur, May 24 (HS). The conditions for the advancement of monsoon seem to be favorable due to marine activities in the Bay of Bengal. Due to this, the effect of pre-monsoon can be seen soon in Uttar Pradesh and light showers can occur locally. Along with this, strong winds and movement of clouds will continue in the sky, but people do not seem to be getting relief from the humid heat at the moment.
Dr. S N Sunil Pandey, Meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad Agricultural Technology University, said on Friday that conditions are becoming favorable for further advance of monsoon into some parts of South Bay of Bengal, remaining parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, remaining parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, some parts of East Central Bay of Bengal.
A depression over south and adjoining west central Bay of Bengal has centered over central Bay of Bengal on the morning of today, 24 May. It is likely to continue to move in a northeasterly direction and intensify into a deep depression by the evening of 24 May. Thereafter, it is likely to continue northeastwards and intensify into a cyclonic storm over east central Bay of Bengal by the morning of 25 May.
It will then move nearly northwards and reach Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal coast as a severe cyclonic storm by the evening of 26 May. A cyclonic circulation lies over southeast Rajasthan. A trough extends from the cyclonic circulation over southeast Rajasthan through central parts of Madhya Pradesh to Jharkhand.
A north-south trough is extending from the cyclonic circulation over southeast Rajasthan to Marathwada via southwest Madhya Pradesh and central Maharashtra. Due to these weather activities, light rain is expected in Uttar Pradesh, especially in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Due to moisture in the atmosphere, the humid heat will continue to trouble people.
He said that the maximum temperature in Kanpur was recorded at 39.2 and the minimum temperature at 28.4 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity in the morning was 68 and the relative humidity in the afternoon was 43 percent. The wind direction was north-east with an average speed of 11.9 km per hour. According to the weather forecast, there are chances of light clouds in the next five days but there is no possibility of rain. Along with this, the humid heat will continue.
