The political atmosphere has become heated due to Arvind Kejriwal’s statement during the assembly elections in Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had accused BJP of creating fake voters, in which he said that “fake voters are being created in Delhi by bringing people from UP and Bihar.” After this statement, NDA leaders started sharp attacks on Kejriwal.
Tejashwi Yadav defended Kejriwal
Former Deputy CM of Bihar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, while supporting Arvind Kejriwal, said that his statement was being made an issue unnecessarily. Tejashwi said,
“This is a matter of adding and deleting names in the voter list. In Maharashtra too, lakhs of votes were added during the assembly elections. Efforts are being made to make it an issue.”
While talking to the media, Tejashwi called it a normal process and said that such changes in the voter list happen in every election, but it is being blown out of proportion and made a political issue.
Kejriwal’s statement and growing controversy
In his statement, Arvind Kejriwal had accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of creating fake voters by bringing people from UP and Bihar to Delhi. After this statement, other leaders of BJP and NDA attacked him fiercely.

“Delhi is not Kejriwal’s property.” - Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary and Union Minister Chirag Paswan also strongly condemned Kejriwal’s statement, calling it insulting.
NDA’s sharp counterattack
NDA leaders called Kejriwal’s statement not only misleading but also an insult to the people of UP and Bihar.
- Lalan Singh said that such statements reflect Kejriwal’s frustration.
- Chirag Paswan termed it an “insult to the migrants of Delhi” and said that Kejriwal is just doing vote bank politics.
- Samrat Chaudhary said that it is clear from Kejriwal’s statement that he is trying to divert the public’s attention.
Political implications and role of Tejashwi
Tejashwi Yadav’s defense of Kejriwal is being considered a part of his alliance’s politics. The RJD leader called it just a matter of change in the voter list, which is being given more importance than necessary.
