Police constable duped of lakhs in the name of share trading

Mumbai: The cases of cheating people of crores of rupees by luring them with good returns by investing in the stock market are increasing. Now a police constable in Pune was cheated of Rs. 7 lakhs. The police have registered a case against the accused in this matter.

The complainant police constable lives in Shivaji Nagar Police Colony. In November last year, a police constable saw an advertisement on social media. The advertisement promised three times return on investment in the stock market.

After this, the police constable contacted the number given in the advertisement, in which the cyber thieves gave information about share trading and said that if they invest in the stock market then they will get good returns.

The accused also told the police constable about an app. After the complainant installed the app on his mobile, the thieves asked him to invest. In the greed of good returns, the police constable started investing in share trading. In which the complainant deposited money from time to time during the last eight months. 7.45 lakhs were deposited.

After investing, the accused lured him with good returns on the investment. However, after some time, when the police constable tried to withdraw the compensation amount deposited through the app, he did not get the money. During this time, the accused also blocked his mobile number. After this, on discovering the fraud, the police constable lodged a complaint at Shivajinagar Police Station. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case against unknown suspects and investigated the matter further.
