Police arrested four vicious robbers in an encounter | News India

Jhansi, 30 August (HS). During an encounter, the police of Moth police station arrested four notorious criminals and recovered thousands of rupees in cash and jewellery along with a pistol and cartridges from their possession. It was told that two days ago these criminals had committed a robbery on a bike riding couple at gunpoint.

Superintendent of Police (Rural) Gopinath Soni told in a press conference held in the Police Line Auditorium on Friday that Anand Swaroop, a resident of Et in Jalaun, had informed the Moth police station on August 29 that on August 28, he was going from Et to Jhansi on a bike with his wife. On the way, four miscreants on a bike stopped him and threatened him with a gun and fled after robbing him of Rs. 10,000 cash, Mangalsutra from his wife's neck, gold chain, etc. The police had registered a case and started searching for the robbers.

On receiving information about the criminals on Friday morning, the police surrounded the criminals at the bus stand from Semri toll plaza. On seeing the police, the criminals opened fire on the police with the intention to kill them. The police, while defending themselves, fired in the air and caught the criminals. The police recovered two bikes used in the incident, two pistols, eight thousand nine hundred and eighty rupees of loot, gold ring, chain, mangalsutra etc. from the possession of the criminals.

The arrested criminals have revealed their names as Gokul Prasad alias Monu Raikwar resident of Todi Fatehpur, Gulab Kushwaha, Sameer Shah and Jitendra Pipariya. Dozens of heinous criminal cases like robbery and theft are registered against the criminals.
