While returning to India from Poland, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's plane passed through Pakistan's airspace. This information has been given in a media report. According to the report, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) sources said that Mr Modi's plane entered Pakistani airspace at 10:15 am and remained there for about 46 minutes.

The aircraft passed through Chitral before passing through the air control regions of Islamabad and Lahore and finally entered India via Amritsar at 11:01 a.m. A CAA official clarified that the flight was permitted under the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of international civil aviation.

The official said that according to international law, NOC is not required in such circumstances. Only the concerned country has to be informed about CAA in advance. Newspapers have written quoting sources that after becoming the Prime Minister of India for the third time, Modi has crossed Pakistan's airspace four times. On August 21, while traveling from Delhi to Poland's capital Warsaw on his special India One plane, Modi entered Pakistani airspace at an altitude of 36,000 feet near Kasur at 10 am.
