‘National Start-up Day’ to be celebrated on 16 January

The PM said that the year 2022 has brought more new opportunities for the start-up sector of India. The organization of Start-up India Innovation Week is also important in the 75th year of India’s independence. He said that it has been decided to celebrate January 16 as ‘National Start-up Day’ so that the culture of start-ups reaches the far-flung parts of the country.

Students are working on the idea of ​​innovation since childhood

Prime Minister Modi said that our effort is to institutionalize innovation in the country, to create attraction for innovation among students since childhood. Today, more than 9,000 Atal Tinkering Labs are giving children a chance to innovate in schools, work on new ideas. He said that the Start-up Runway facility on GeM platform is also being used by start-ups to make their products available to the government.

Improvement in India’s ranking in Global Innovation Index

The PM said that different departments, ministries of the government keep in touch with the youth and start-ups. encourage their ideas. The priority of the government is to give more and more youth a chance for innovation. The campaign that is going on in India regarding innovation has the effect that India’s ranking in the Global Innovation Index has also improved a lot. In the year 2015, India was at number 81 in this ranking. Now India is at number 46 in the Innovation Index.
