49 people died in a fire in a building in Kuwait on Wednesday. 40 Indians are also among those who died. The building which caught fire was a 6-storey building. The building was engulfed in flames and suffocating smoke and the fire took the lives of dozens of people. The building which caught fire is in Mangaf, Kuwait. PM Modi has expressed grief over the incident and has announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased.

Most of those who lost their lives in the fire were Indians. More than 50 people have been injured in this accident. In such a situation, the death toll may increase. On the other hand, the Indian Embassy is also in action in view of the incident. The Embassy has issued helpline numbers. Apart from this, an e-mail address has also been issued. According to the Kuwaiti government, this fatal accident was caused by the greed and negligence of the property owner. After investigation, the Kuwaiti government has ordered strict legal action against the property owner.

PM Modi also held a meeting
PM Modi held a high-level meeting regarding the Kuwait fire incident. A compensation of Rs 2 lakh has been announced from the PM Relief Fund to the families of the deceased. Minister of State for External Affairs Kirtivardhan Singh has left for Kuwait to help the victims.
