North 24 Parganas, 07 December (His). After the suicide of Jasbir Kaur, a private school teacher, the atmosphere in Dunlop, North 24 Parganas is not showing any calm.
On Saturday, Jasbir’s family blocked the Dunlop intersection and demanded an investigation into the cause of his death. He warned that Jasbir’s body would not be cremated until a proper investigation and hearing were conducted.
It is noteworthy that 58-year-old Jasbir Kaur was a teacher of the kindergarten section of Khalsa Model Senior Secondary School near Dunlop Bridge. She was a resident of Baranagar Matrimandir Lane of Dakshineswar police station area. After the death of her husband in 2003, she started teaching in school. For the last five years, she had been making allegations of corruption against the new management of the school, including the principal. It is being claimed that Jasbir was being harassed due to this.
In a video message, Jasbir had said that he was forced to take this decision for the sake of justice. The police is investigating the matter
On Saturday, many people along with their families came to block Dunlap intersection to demand justice in the teacher’s suicide case. The family and relatives of the deceased teacher have demanded appropriate punishment to the culprits.
