Patiala News: Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Tuesday arrested Ajay Kumar, Junior Engineer (JE), Municipal Council, Nabha, District Patiala red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.
A bribe of Rs 50,000 was demanded to pursue the CLU file.
Giving information in this regard, Vigilance Bureau spokesperson said that the accused has been arrested on the complaint of Jagdeep Singh, resident of Nabha city. The spokesperson further said that the complainant approached the Vigilance Bureau and alleged that the said J.E. CLU of his shop in Nabha city. (Land Use Change) Is demanding a bribe of Rs 50 thousand to take the file forward.
Vigilance laid a trap and arrested
The spokesperson said that after preliminary investigation of the complaint, the Vigilance Bureau laid a trap and arrested the alleged JE while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from the complainant in the presence of two government witnesses. In this regard, a case has been registered against the accused under the Corruption Act at Vigilance Bureau Police Station Patiala Range and further investigation of the case is going on.
