Saharanpur, July 03 (HS). A tree plantation program is being run from July 1 to 7 under the Forest Festival in the state. In this sequence, on Wednesday, State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Industrial Development Jaswant Saini planted a tree. At the same time, Nakur Range MLA Mukesh Chaudhary planted a tree with the help of City Chairman Nagar Palika Nakur Shivkumar Gupta and gave the message of saving the environment and making it pollution free.
The minister planted saplings of mango, jamun, sheesham, gold mohar, kadam, etc. in the Mandi Samiti premises under the Rampur Maniharan range. In the Nakur range, at Maharaja Agrasen Girls Inter College, along with MLA Mukesh Chaudhary, city chairman Nagar Palika Nakur Shivkumar Gupta, children were made aware by planting neem, peepal, banyan, kadam, arjun, jackfruit, etc. On this occasion, the public representatives said that one must plant a tree in the name of mother and take care of it. In the Saharanpur range, on the banks of the Hindon river in Gagalhadi Ahatmal, former MLA Jagpal Singh planted teak, sheesham, etc. in the Hari Shankari Vatika.
Under the guidance of Divisional Director Social Forestry Division, Saharanpur Shubham Singh, ''Van Mahotsav'' seminar and plantation program was organized. Forest Division's Sub Divisional Forest Officer Sanvedana Chauhan and Regional Forest Officer Saharanpur made the departmental employees and local citizens aware of the environment. According to this year's theme given by the Government of India, 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam', every person should definitely plant a tree. Along with this, in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Aawasiya Vidyalaya Behat under Behat Range of Social Forestry Division, Saharanpur, Principal Mamta Singh and the entire staff of Behat Range planted Drumstick, Peepal, Pilkhan, Amla, Guava etc. In Rajjupur Graveyard Shakurpur Mafi under Deoband Range, Peepal, Tamarind, Amla etc. were planted by the village head and other villagers.
Along with this, a “Van Mahotsav” seminar and plantation program was organized under the guidance of Divisional Forest Officer, Shivalik Forest Division, Saharanpur Shweta Sain in Mohand, Shakumbhari and Badkala Range Badshahibagh of Shivalik Forest Division, Saharanpur. 50 plants of species like Amla, Jackfruit, Arjun, Sheesham, Neem, Teak and Jamun etc. were planted in Mohand 3B under Mohand Range.
On the occasion of the Van Mahotsav program, important information was given about the environment and forests. Detailed information was given about the “Plant trees – save trees” campaign. It was told that the reason for the severe heat this year is also the decreasing cover of forests. Forests are most important for creating natural balance, and it is our moral responsibility to protect them.
