On the first day of the special session, there was an altercation between Kharge and the Speaker, when he intervened, Jairam Ramesh was beaten up.

Parliament Special Session 2023: On the very first day of the special session of Parliament, there was a heated argument between Rajya Sabha Speaker Jagdeep Dhankhar and Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh was also present in the house. When he fell in the middle, the chairman scolded him severely.

In fact, Kharge alleged that opposition members were not allowed to speak in the House. Seeing this the chairman got angry. He denied all the allegations. He also advised the opposition to change its attitude.

When the Chairman was speaking, Jairam Ramesh said that you are commenting on his speech. You let him finish his speech. On this the Speaker said that I run this House. If you have something to say, come and sit on this chair. On that Jairam Ramesh said that there is no need for me to come to the chair.

Kharge alleged that there should be freedom of speech in Parliament. When they make small mistakes, they are given huge punishment, but when they (the ruling party) make any mistakes, you forgive them.

On which the Chairman said that it seems you have gone astray today. You are attacking me. How long will we continue to justify disruption? He said that whenever any important issue is discussed, the opposition walks out. When Kharge thanked him after the speech, the Chairman also made fun of him. He said that you at least said thank you.

Kharge also attacked PM Modi. He said that Nehru believed that the absence of a strong opposition meant that there were significant flaws in the system. If there is no strong opposition it is not worth it.

He further said that now that the opposition is strong, its focus is on weakening it through ED, CBI. Take them (for your party), put them in the washing machine and when they are completely clean, permanent them (for your party). You can see what is happening today. The PM rarely comes to Parliament and when he comes, he turns it into an event and leaves.
