CBSE Secondary School Syllabus 2024-25 for Class 9th: All classes of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have started across the country for the academic session 2024-25. As soon as the academic session started, CBSE has issued guidelines for class 9th students, which all students have to follow. According to CBSE Secondary School Curriculum 2024-25, class 9th students have to choose at least two language subjects, social science, mathematics and science subjects. Apart from this, students will have the option to choose a third language subject, skill based subject / optional subject. The CBSE secondary school curriculum also includes three compulsory subjects – health and physical education, work experience and art education.
Choose your subjects wisely in 9th class
The official notification of CBSE states that Class 9th and 10th are a combined course and hence students should take only those subjects in Class 9th which they want to continue in Class 10th.
CBSE Class 10th Maths board exam is conducted at two levels. Students who opt for Basic Mathematics will have the option to take Applied Mathematics (241) as an elective in the next class i.e. 11th (Senior Secondary), however they will not be allowed to take Mathematics (041) at the Senior Secondary level. However, a student who has opted for Mathematics can be offered any of the two Mathematics courses at the Senior Secondary level.
Failing in three compulsory subjects
If a student fails in any one of the three compulsory subjects i.e. Science, Maths and Social Science and passes in the skill subject (offered as six optional subjects) then that subject will be replaced by the skilled subject. Then that subject will be replaced by the skilled subject and the Class 10th Board result will be declared accordingly.
Failing in five subjects
If a student fails in any language subject from the first five subjects, it will be replaced by the language taken as the sixth subject (if there is no skill subject) or seventh subject (optional). This rule will apply in case the student has passed in that language and after replacement Hindi or English is the language passed in the first five subjects.
