Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Roger Binny has appointed Devjit Saikia as the Executive Secretary of the Board. He will take charge of BCCI affairs in place of Jay Shah. It is noteworthy that Jay Shah has become the new President of ICC from December 1.
BCCI President Roger Binny, using his constitutional powers, has appointed Devjit Saikia as the acting secretary of the board. According to BCCI rules, the acting secretary can take charge of the board until a permanent secretary is appointed. This is a temporary arrangement. Saikia, who hails from Assam, is a first-class cricketer. He is currently the Joint Secretary of BCCI. Saikia will hold the post till September next year and after that a permanent secretary will be appointed to the board.
