No diesel, no electricity! Now air-powered train will run in India, know about the train and its possible route

Hydrogen Train

Indian Railways is expanding rapidly. After trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Tejas, now there is a craze for Vande Bharat Express trains. Bullet train work is also going on at a fast pace. Between Vande Bharat and Bullet Train, an air-powered train is soon going to be launched in India. Indian Railways is going to start its hydrogen train. The country's first hydrogen train may start next year i.e. 2024-25. It is believed that the trial of this train can be done by the end of this year.

When will the hydrogen train run?

The first hydrogen train is about to run in the country. Germany's TUV-SUD has been hired to conduct a third-party safety audit for the country's first hydrogen train. It is believed that the trial run may start in December 2024. This train can start in the year 2024-25. It is believed that the country's first hydrogen train is going to run on the Jind-Sonipat section of Haryana under the Northern Railway Zone.

What is hydrogen train?

Railways has set a target of making itself 'net zero carbon emitter' by 2030. Under this target, hydrogen running trains will be run for the first time in the country. It is believed that this train can start in the year 2024-25. Railways is preparing to run 35 hydrogen trains on various routes. This project has been named 'Hydrogen for Heritage'. Hydrogen train runs on hydrogen fuel. The train has a hydrogen fuel cell instead of a diesel engine, which emits no carbon dioxide, nitrogen or particulate matter. Pollution can be controlled by running these trains.

How does a hydrogen train work?

In this train, electricity is generated by converting hydrogen and oxygen with the help of hydrogen fuel cell. This electricity is used to run the train. This train runs without emitting smoke, which does not cause pollution.

On which route will the hydrogen train run?

Apart from Haryana's Jind-Sonipat route, trains can also run on Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, Nilgiri Mountain Railway, Kalka Shimla Railway, Matheran Railway, Kangra Valley, Bilmora Waghai and Marwar-Devgarh Madaria route. The speed of this train is 140 km/hour and the train can run up to 1000 km at a time. At present, preparations are underway to run this train on a small scale. It will be expanded later. Hydrogen trains are much more expensive than diesel trains.
