Stock Market Today: After opening on a positive note, the stock market witnessed dry conditions for the second consecutive day today due to profit booking and stock specific rally. Nifty50 made a new all-time high, while Sensex saw increasing selling pressure after touching a new all-time high. At the same time, 227 stocks touched new highs of the year on BSE till 10.36 am. While 209 stocks hit upper circuit.
The Sensex opened with a gain of 250.55 points today and is close to a record high. But due to profit booking, it fell by 83.11 points. By 10.45 am, the Sensex was trading 217 points down at 73261.93 with a fluctuation of 412.63 points.
Nifty reaches new record high
Nifty 50 today touched a new record high of 23667.10 after opening with a correction. At 10.45 am, it was trading 24.30 points down at 23543.70. Bank Nifty was also trading 0.57 per cent down after touching a record high. Financial, auto, oil and gas, realty sectors were also trading on the decline due to increased selling pressure.
Investors' capital increased by Rs 1.32 lakh crore
Investors' wealth has increased by Rs. 1.32 lakh crore as of 10.45 am on BSE today. On the Nifty 50, shares of Bharti Airtel, Larsen & Toubro, Infosys, Hero MotoCorp, Hindalco were the top gainers, gaining up to 3 per cent, while shares of Hindustan Unilever, HDFC Bank, Nestle, BPCL and UltraTech Cement were trading down by up to 1.44 per cent.
IT stocks rise
Most of the IT sector stocks have seen improvement. LTI Mindtree, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, Infosys and TCS have seen gains. Economists estimate that the government is in a mood to please all sections in the budget to be presented next month. It is expected that the government will continue to take decisions in favor of overall economic development.
