Maharashtra Politics: The political drama of Maharashtra that started after the elections has now taken a new turn. Maharashtra politics is heated with speculations that Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar will join hands again and eight MPs elected from Sharad Pawar’s NCP will join the NDA. It is being said that Sharad Pawar is lobbying to get his daughter Supriya Sule a place in the Union Cabinet.
MLAs of Sharad Pawar group put pressure
Sharad Pawar group won the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra but lost in the assembly. With Sharad Pawar’s NCP getting only 10 seats in the assembly, questions have been raised over the political future of the party. According to sources, after the assembly results, MPs and MLAs of Sharad Pawar’s party NCP have increased the pressure on Pawar to join hands with Ajit Pawar and join NDA.
MPs and MLAs are also increasing pressure on Sharad Pawar on the issue that the Election Commission has considered only Ajit Pawar’s NCP as the real NCP and has allotted the real election symbol of the clock. After which Ajit Pawar faction has also got 41 seats in the assembly. In such a situation, the existence of Sharad Pawar’s separate NCP is in danger. It is noteworthy that a few days ago, Ajit Pawar’s mother had expressed her wish that Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar should unite again. At that time, many leaders including Praful Patel had expressed this wish and said that Sharad Pawar is like God for us. Then a few days ago, when Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was praised in the mouthpiece of Uddhav Thackeray’s party Shiv Sena, Supriya Sule also supported him. Earlier, Ajit Pawar had claimed in an interview that Sharad Pawar had made full preparations to join BJP in 2019 but he backed out at the last moment.
Will BJP win?
According to political discussions, BJP has approved the efforts of both Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar to join hands and the efforts of Sharad Pawar’s NCP to join the Grand Alliance. Actually, BJP wants to reduce its dependence on Eknath Shinde in Maharashtra. On the other hand, at the national level he wants Nitish Kumar to remain in control. BJP leaders are unhappy with the way Eknath Shinde worked during government formation in Maharashtra and they want to give more credit to Shinde.
