Nepal: Police raid three institutions linked to former Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane, many important documents seized | News India

Kathmandu, September 02 (HS). While the parliamentary committee's investigation into the cooperative scam against Nepal's former Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane is ongoing, Pokhara Police has raided the offices of three organizations associated with him and seized many important documents.

Pokhara Police, which first started the investigation of the cooperative scam, has raided three institutions in Kathmandu. It is being told that all the three institutions raided by Pokhara Police are linked to former Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane. Apart from Ravi, his party's co-general secretary Vipin Acharya and his business partner Chhavilal Joshi are involved in these three institutions. Joshi is a retired DIG of Nepal Police.

Although Pokhara Police is refraining from saying anything officially about this raid, former Home Minister Lamichhane himself has informed the media about this. According to Ravi Lamichhane, Pokhara Police has raided the offices of Gorkha Media Network, Nature Herb and Nature Nest in Kathmandu. Not only this, Lamichhane has claimed that during the raid, the police has also taken many important documents from all these offices.

Ravi Lamichhane was the managing director of Gorkha Media Network, and his party's joint general secretary Vipin Acharya was the creative director of the same company. Acharya also admitted that Pokhara police interrogated him for about two and a half hours after raiding the office. Similarly, Lamichhane's business partner, former DIG Chhavilal Joshi, has also informed about his interrogation.

A few days ago, the Parliamentary Special Committee probing the cooperative scam has summoned Acharya and Joshi along with Ravi Lamichhane and recorded their statements. According to police sources, the police will take further legal action as soon as the report of the Parliamentary Investigation Committee arrives.
