Bijapur: Naxalites have again launched a major attack in Chhattisgarh. In this Naxalite attack, eight District Reserve Guard soldiers have been martyred, while a driver has also died. In Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, Naxalites hid an IED on the road and blasted it. This is considered to be the biggest attack by Naxalites on security forces in two years and the first major attack of this year.
Bastar Range IG Sundarraj said that eight District Reserve Guard (DRG) personnel and the driver were returning in a Scorpio SUV after completing an anti-Naxal operation when Naxalites triggered an IED blast in Ambeli village of Bijapur, which hit them. The Scorpio car arrived. All the people in the car and the driver died on the spot. The District Reserve Guard, recruited mostly from local people, is a frontline unit of the police department. After this attack, a large number of other security forces reached the spot and surrounded the entire area and started searching for the attacking Naxalites.
Anti-Naxal operations were being conducted in these areas for the last three days, in which five Naxalites were killed, while before this a head constable of DRG was also killed. After the recent Naxalite blast, pictures of the spot have also surfaced. The explosion was so strong that the car flew into the air and fell 10 feet into the ground.
Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Rai said that recently large-scale operations are being conducted in Naxalism affected areas, due to which the Naxalites have become nervous and are carrying out this attack.
The martyrdom of the soldiers will not be ignored, our fight to end Naxalism will be carried forward with more strength.
