National Commission for Women objected to the trailer of Mahesh Manjrekar’s film

New Delhi: Taking cognizance of the matter, the National Commission for Women has expressed displeasure over the trailer of filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar’s Marathi film Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Kon Koncha. The commission has received a complaint from an organization in Maharashtra regarding the trailer of the film, after which the film now seems to be embroiled in controversies.

National Commission for Women chief Rekha Sharma has written a letter to the Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, to censor the bold and sexual scenes in the film’s trailer. At the same time, a copy of it has also been sent to the chairman of Central Board of Film Certification, Prasoon Joshi.

Commission’s chairperson Rekha Sharma has written to the Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to immediately intervene in the matter and censor the explicit sex scenes in the trailer and the film. The commission has also expressed displeasure over the fact that the trailer is being circulated to the viewers on social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Twitter etc. without any age restrictions.

Apart from this, the commission has asked the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Central Board of Film Certification to give information about the action being taken on this issue at the earliest.
